Raquel Cedar is a screenwriter and independent filmmaker passionate about telling character driven and heart-wrenching stories that explore the complex dilemmas of the human condition. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Cedar settled in Brooklyn, NY after receiving a writing and directing focused B.F.A. in Film and Television Production at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. She was a Quarter-Finalist for the 2015-16 Sloan Foundation Feature Film Award and has had her films screened at such notable venues as the Bushwick, Dumbo, Art of Brooklyn, Artist Forum, Cinema at The Edge, Newport Beach International, and Other Venice Beach film festivals. When she’s not writing or working on set, this California native loves swimming at the beach and bird watching at the historic Greenwood Cemetery.
