Raquel Cedar is a NYC-based comedy writer with a passion for the Kid Space.

As the daughter of a character actor who read bedtime stories like he was at a callback for Dark Crystal, Cedar fell in love with storytelling and building out-of-this-world sets and characters. She received her BFA at NYU Tisch School of the Arts then spent the next ten years working as a union prop assistant on the sets of Boardwalk Empire, West Side Story, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, to name a few. Cedar’s professional art department experience has made her a distinctly visual and imaginative storyteller. She received screenwriting accolades as a top 3 finalist in the 2021 Cinestory Foundation TV Fellowship Competition for her live-action preschool+ script, Madame Pellegrino. Additionally, her half-hour comedy, Edith from Brighton Beach was a semi-finalist in the 2020 Shore Scripts TV Pilot Contest and the 2021 Screencraft TV Pilot Script Competition. When she is not writing or working on set, this California native loves swimming at the beach and bird-watching at the historic Greenwood Cemetery.
